Run and Brunch

A friendly, social running club in Clacton.

I started Run and Brunch running club in Clacton because I wanted to get people of all ages, shapes and sizes to give walking, jogging and running a go without feeling pressured in to being fast or in to wearing the latest running gear. I want people to utilise the beautiful scenery we have here along the coast of Clacton-on-Sea, Holland-on-Sea, Frinton-on-Sea and Walton on the Naze.

I tend to create an event on facebook but that doesn’t mean that’s the only time you’re allowed to meet to run and brunch! I want to encourage people to make walking, jogging or running a social and fun activity to do out in the fresh sea air. They will generally start at 10am and last for around 45 minutes so we are just in time for ‘elevensies’ at the local tearoom or cafe!

Our meeting points change each week so be sure to check on the facebook group where our next event is starting from and what tearoom or cafe we will end up in!

Who takes part?

Anybody can take part as long as they are fit and healthy enough to walk, jog or run for approximately 45 minutes intermittently. There will be a natural divide in the group of walkers, jog/walkers and runners. Don’t feel that because you can’t run for hours on end that you can’t take part.

These are free, unsupervised sessions

This is not a training session, bootcamp or paid running coaching session. This is a free service that people will take part in completely at their own risk. Any change in your physical activity should be cleared by a GP or other medical professional prior to taking part. It is your own responsibility to ensure you are safe and prevent causing yourself any harm. If you are unsure if you should take part, speak with your GP or medical specialist before you consider joining us.
