When it comes to training, your playlist is everything.
Your music playlist can make or break your session. This is particularly important to me when I’m teaching one of my classes, a lot of thought and work does into the music I train people to and it’s one of the reasons Totally Shredded is so successful nationwide.
Recently I offered to make a new CD for my spinning classes by asking each participant to write down a track they think they’d enjoy spinning to which went down an absolute treat when I took it in and used it.
So…for a bit of fun I asked a group of bloggers who train regularly to name ONE track that gives them the extra push during their workout. Below is our playlist which runs for about 45 minutes or so. Perfect for a jog along the seafront or weights session in my garage!

Cross fitting Georgina from Fitcetera suggested “Faint” by Linkin Park
Laura Fat2Fit recommends “Stronger” by Kanye West
Helen, a running blogger at Helsbels says that “Run to the hills” by Iron Maiden gets her moving!
Ali Hemsley loves “You’re never fully dressed without a smile” by Sia and says it’s because it’s so upbeat and motivational.
Jess, PT contender says that Beyonce’s “Run the World” is STILL her favourite song to workout to.
Zoe from Just Zoe says that the song that pulls her through a workout is “Sucker For Pain” – Lil Wayne, Wiz Khalifa, Imagine Dragons
Bei from BEIFIT suggested “Starboy” by The Weeknd
Graeme from Fitness Food and Travel says that when he feels like he’s dying on the rower, “Tremor” by Dimitri Vegas, Like Mike and Martin Garrix really helps! (I can see why!)
My suggestion for a guaranteed burst of energy while training is “Hot right now” by DJ Fresh (feat. Rita Ora)
This is a great playlist! I pay for Spotify premium each month to listen to in the gym and while running. Premium allows you to make tracks available in flight mode so you don’t use up your data streaming it. There are some tracks I wouldn’t normally train to in this playlist so I’m really pleased we put this together. You can listen to a snippet of each in my sidebar by clicking on the little picture to the left of the track. If you click the top track it will run through the entire list automatically.
